Rules and Regulations

The Guide Book (2018)

An Introduction

Hello. I welcome you to the the competition of a lifetime. I wish to congratulate you on being a participating member of the first annual Fairy’s End. Here in the guide book where I will explain the set of rules and guidelines for the competition. There are very few rules within the competitions itself. First I would like to start with a brief summary and history of Fairy’s End. Magic has existed for thousands of years, of course, and has been used to accomplish great feats. Of the four foundation magics we, the people, have only recently unlocked the true secrets of one. The magic that gives form, Creation magic. In 2015 an organization, called God Slayers, were able to obtain the essence of existence called the Cradle of Eden. This was creation magic in its purest form. Anything physical can be made from it. So when the stone was grasped by one of the creators, Jack Nicholson, it activated. The stone created this competition named Fairy’s End which will begin in 2018 at the stroke of midnight officially starting on January 1st. Anyone in the world may join the competition for the Cradle belongs to all but may only be used by one.

We wish for as little death as possible. Yet there are only four current rules. None of them are in place to protect your life, only to keep the game “Fair”. They are the most basic rules that the games needs to run on. This also rewards creativity and encourages growth as there are very few limitations. I would also ask the contestants to speak freely about what is on your mind. During the competition I will be observing you at all times to keep a record of the events that take place. So anytime you wish to speak I will happily listen. I will not be speaking with you just merely listening.

Due to the nature of the Fairy’s End we require every participant to have Crusader represent you in battle. Normally performing this level of magic can be quite difficult. Not to worry though as Creation Magic will supply you with all the magical energy you need to fight. *To be noted that the stone does provide you with unlimited magical energy, but it will not stop the strain that using magic can put on your body. Please do be careful.*

Crusaders

What are Crusaders? Crusaders are beings of the past with the past being defined as any time prior to the individual’s death. So beings that cannot die, such as Gods, can not be summoned. The processes of bringing a Crusader into being is based on a three factors. First the world remembers them existing and creates the channel that summons a Crusader. Yet what history remembers, and what the legends say, are what gives them their power. This is the second factor that affects a summoning. If the legends are contradictory or exceed more than a single tale then the Lords deepest beliefs are the deciding factor. The third factor is time frame as Crusaders may have different abilities based on what time of their life they are in. Such as a young man may be a skilled warrior but as an old man he his body is weak but his magic is beyond measure. These factors are then displayed by being given a class which provides boosts to even the playing field between Crusaders.

These classifications are what gives Crusaders certain enhanced abilities and power that they may or may not have truly had in their lifetime. Listed below are what current classification there are for Crusaders. Some of which have sub-classification. These sub-classifications are a different from normal classification because they share many traits with another overarching classification. For example we have the Ranger and Free Shooter . They both require similar attributes so they both are considered one in the same. The minor attributes needed to be changed between Ranger to Free Shooter  are not enough to create a separate classification. This has shown that there are many classification that we have yet to discover.

Classification

Ranger

A Ranger is a distance shooter, typically wielding a bow an arrow, that uses projectiles as the main source of combat. Rangers are especially gifted in speed and agility but close combat and magic can be their greatest weakness. What makes them one of the most dangerous Crusaders is their precision and accuracy. They may not be the best in terms of brute strength but they know how to make a deadly strike.

Free Shooter

A Free Shooter  is a subclass of the Ranger. Free Shooter  use projectile machinery such as guns. These Crusaders typically are more modern individuals rather than those of the far past. What sets them apart is that they have more strength and lack in speed and agility. Their accuracy is slightly lowered but they rely more on precision due to the amount of shots one can get off.

Swordsman

A Swordsman is the class of those who wield various types of swords. A Swordsman typically has very strong physical power. Often they will pair it with either defence or speed as most have to sacrifice one for the other. Being such a common fighting style for years this class has the most options and varying fighters. The skill of a swordsman can be just as important, if not more, than raw power.

Lancer

Lancer is a warrior who uses a long pole like weapon. Lancers have a strong focus on physical strength and dexterity to perform deadly attacks on an opponent. It was common for some Lancer to be mounted on a horse while they wielding their lances.  However a single mistake can leave a Lancer vulnerable to attack especially at a close distance. When used properly the Lancer can be one of the strongest Crusaders.

Spearman

A subclass of Lancer, a spear man has its strengths in agility and dexterity. Like a Lancer Spearman wield pole like weapons, yet Spearman’s are usually lighter made for manny fast attack rather than one strong strike. Their defenses usually leave more to be desired as most do not wear heavy armor.

Beast

Beasts are [one of] the most unique of all the Crusader classes. Very rarely are boosts given too beasts as they are already supernatural beings. Some, however, have special abilities that make them so fierce that they could quickly change the game. Despite their amazing strengths most beast have a very specific weakness making them easy to kill. It is best to to aware of these weakness when using this class as some may quickly and effectively kill the Beast.

Mage

A Mage is a magic based class similar to how we use magic. What sets them apart is their particular skills with magic that are almost impossible to duplicate. A Mage is well trained in the mind giving them great magic power and magic defence. Yet they are physically weaker than most most other classes. If a mage is able to get the upper hand with their spells then they can easily be the most prominent threat.

Assassin

Assassins are a tactical based class that uses tools and stealth to take down opponents. Their biggest weakness is their lack of defence which can leave them vulnerable. Yet catching the Assassin can be hardest part as they are fast and nimble. Without knowing what the Assassin is cable of, there is no way to prepare for the attacks. The only hope is that the death is swift and painless.

Tactician

Tacticians are a well balanced tactical class. Most only slightly excel in one feature like strength or dexterity. What makes this class unique is the way they use their environments. They can quickly turn the tides of a battle by using their surroundings to give them an upper hand. Tacticians can spend a good amount of planning that is sure to pay off in one way or another. With the overall average abilities they have little to no major weaknesses.

Yet how are crusaders able to function in our world, you may ask yourself? It’s really quite simple when you get down to it; because Crusaders come into our world on a memory based existence as discussed earlier. Because of this Crusaders are able to have a shared base knowledge of the world with their respective Lords.  As an example if a lord has done their research then they will be able to build up basic knowledge, such as the understanding of their native language, then the Crusader will have that basic knowledge as well. Acting almost like shared memory bank between the two. Yet this is not a constant link because once a Crusader is summoned they will only gain the basic knowledge obtained prior to the summoning and not after.

The Cradle of Eden

At the center of Fairy’s End is the Cradle of Eden. It’s what powers the competition. When there are two lords left the Cradle reveals itself as a red stone. When only one Lord remains the Cradle becomes tangible. Upon being grasped the Cradle will activate creating whatever the winner wants most. What is created is based on the deepest levels of the human psyche and the subconscious to give the winner what they truly desire. Some Lords will know what it is long before they join the fight. Others may never know till they have won.

Lords

During the competition you will be referred to as Lord.

The Confederate

The confederate is the individual who sets the standard for for all other competitors. This is established to keep discrepancies between all Lords at a minimum. All participating contestants will be considered equal to one another in terms of strength. How this strength manifests itself can differ wildly between lords.  From magical ability, to intellect, or to physical capabilities. You are fighting amongst those just as powerful as you out there so be ready for everything.

Rules

  1. All Lords must have a Crusader.
  2. Lords may not be directly attacked by Crusader unless the said Crusader is protecting their Lord from harm or death.
  3. If a Lord’s Crusader is defeated the Lord is to not be attacked unless they state they are still going to continue to fight or begins to attack of their own free will.
  4. A Lord is allowed to continue fighting if their Crusader has fallen, yet their life will be at stake in place of the Crusader.
  5. The minimum number of participants is 7 and the maximum is 12.

Notes

  • When a battle is declared either mentally or verably all Crusaders will be equipped for the fight by the Cradle if not already.
  • Everything spoken during the game will be universally understood by all contestants removing the language barrier. Certain things may be lost in translation so I will include original with brackets such as [these] to help explain or translate.
  • All notes that I make are are to better help understand some of the finer details are in (parentheses).
  • Since I will be recording the competition I encourage you to talk to me as I am always listening. It will add to the competition, help us understand more about the competition, as well as have recorded knowledge to build on. Whenever a contestant speaks to me I will follow it with the phrase “in my presents” in the record.
  • All Crusaders can sense one another within the battlefield but this does not reveal location. It’s purpose is to let contestants know when everyone has arrived and keep track of who has died.
  • All Crusaders are naturally drawn to one another.
  • I cannot follow those who are not direct participants in Fairy’s End.
